Filming In Brooklyn returned to the Dumbo set of Rescue Me this evening to see what else was going on, and got there just in time to see a pretty cool scene being shot. Actually, we saw it shot twice, but the first time a crew member stepped in front of us at the last moment. Oh well, they have to do what they have to do (and we try to stay out of their way as much as possible).
The shot: a truck rigged with all sorts of lights and cameras towed an SUV down Jay Street and hit it with some kind of air blast, spraying papers and other debris all over the van and the street.
First, the street had to be cleared from the first blast.
Then, the truck had to be reset.
And, action!
After that, the day’s shooting wrapped and everyone packed up to go home.
These guys definitely had a long day.
One final note: don’t wear black to a Rescue Me shoot. The cellulose that they use for ashes sticks to everything!
