Rescue Me In Dumbo

June 25th, 2008 · 3 Comments

FX Drama Rescue Me is filming in Dumbo today, pissing off quite a few area workers, from what we saw and heard.

When we stopped by around 3:30, Jay Street between Front and Water Streets were covered in a gray material simulating ash.

Daniel Sunjata looks hot even with a head wound.

Many crew members were wearing masks to combat the blowing “ash”.

Finally, after much setting up and rehearsal, and a final round of “dirtying up” the actors, some action. Listen for the woman trying to cross the street, swearing at the poor P.A. who was just doing his job. I’m not saying that some people don’t get inconvenienced by film and TV shoots, but it’s never the fault of the people who are getting bitched at the most; they just happen to be the most accessible.

Unfortunately, all of the acting was going on behind a fire truck. Filming In Brooklyn was unable to get a shot of series star Denis Leary, who hung out behind the fire truck the entire time we were there. But we’re going back to try again. Brownstoner has some great shots posted of Mr. Leary. Hopefully they’ll still be filming when we get back over there!
