No, Pierce Brosnan won’t be appearing on The Real World: Brooklyn, but it’s looking more sure that The Real World: Brooklyn will be located in Red Hook. According to a post on Curbed, the clincher is that the owner of the Pier 41 building in question said that he signed a confidentiality agreement and refused to talk about TRW.
And in other news, a Filming In Brooklyn reader made us aware of his funny post chronicling his quest to get a good picture of Pierce Brosnan, who was filming The Greatest at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Bushwick recently.
Last, there was this article in The New York Times about renting your house out for a shoot. There are quotes from a Ditmas Park resident who rented her house out for an Angelina Jolie shoot. She said it was “not for the faint of heart.” Especially not in her case: they (purposely) set a character on fire in her dining room, singeing the ceiling! (I dare our resident location manager not to comment, especially after reading the first comment on the Ditmas Park Blog where we found the Times article.)

I’d like to add that even though this blog is only a couple months old, I learned very quickly to approach the location manager first when trying to get on a set, even though I should “officially” be going to the publicity person. Maybe it’s because the location managers are the ones who spend all day dealing with the business owners and homeowners and are used to trying to make people happy, and are most used to dealing with “non-industry” people, but they always seem to be the nicest people on the set, the most willing to talk to me and help me out. I’ve been lucky not to come across any of the assholes - yet.
