Life On Mars, the new series starring Michael Imperioli of The Sopranos fame, and Colm Meaney from Star Trek: The Next Generation Harvey Keitel (the role was recast in July, according to Wikipedia), is filming today near Vanderbilt and Dean in Prospect Heights. Preparations are underway for a scene set in the 1970s.
Parts of the bike lane on Dean are being painted over.
More than a dozen picture cars are parked up and down Dean, including some really cool period NYC police cars.
We’ll be stopping by again in a little bit.
UPDATE: We stopped by, and there’s still no filming going on. Apparently the production is still at another location, but will be moving to this location soon. Which means they should start filming…right around the time I will become unavailable for the rest of the day! So if anyone is in the area, please try to get pictures.
Lisa Bonet was there, inside a trailer with the door open. But I guess what sets this site apart from some others is that I wasn’t about to stick my camera into a trailer to get a picture. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to get a picture of her later today. In the mean time, here are some more pictures of old vehicles.

I’ve been watching the original and enjoyed it when I heard they got rid of Colm and added Lisa Bonet I got real disappointed.
I miss New Amsterdam which filmed a scene with Orlando Jones at City College up in Harlem.
