The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is filming today in the vicinity of Eighth Avenue and 7th Street in Park Slope.  The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a live-action version of the dancing broomstick segment from Fantasia, starring Nicolas Cage as the apprentice. According to aceshowbiz.com, the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced film is set to be released on July 16th, 2010.  Thanks to FIB reader Chris for the tip!

UPDATE:

The exact location for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is the subway station at the corner of Seventh Avenue and 9th Street.  They’re scheduled to shoot there tomorrow as well.

As the World Turns is filming  on location (a rare thing for a soap!) in Midwood in the vicinity of Locust Avenue and East 14th Street.

A commercial for the NFL draft will be shooting in two locations in Brooklyn today: on the pedestrian walkway of the Brooklyn Bridge, and in Fulton Ferry State Park.

I think someone called in the SA shooting to Brownstoner or Gothamist as a subway fire. They must be using a bunch of emergency vehicles.

Nope, no emergency vehicles scheduled for today’s shoot that I know of. Somebody in the comments said there was an actual fire near the shoot.

    Big Fire on 9th Street?
