I passed by The Good Wife setting up this morning at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. The set signs point inside an entrance on Washington Avenue between Montgomery and Crown Streets (closer to Crown).

Don Cheadle talks about filming in Brooklyn with Stephen Colbert

On last night’s Colbert Report Don Cheadle talked a little bit about filming Brooklyn’s Finest in Brownsville. (In fact, Stephen asked him a question about it similar to one that I asked director Antoine Fuqua.) The whole interview is good, but if you just want to see the Brooklyn part, it starts at 4:52. Brooklyn’s Finest will be in theaters on March 5th.

Today was one of those days where I just couldn’t get done everything that needed to be done in a timely matter, so sadly I didn’t get to this in time. But in case anyone passed by some filming today in the vicinity of S. Portland and Lafayette, it was the FX drama Damages. Thanks so much to Evan for the tip.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice filmed all over Brooklyn this summer. From real subway stations to elaborately built fake ones, to the Bedford Armory (lots of time filming there), and many other locations around Brooklyn, this movie has Brooklyn all over it.

Steve sent in a tip that something called Her Name was Sarah is filming today in the vicinity of Rugby and Beverly Roads. I couldn’t find anything about it on imdb so I’m guessing that it’s a small/student production.

Ugly Betty is scheduled to film a season 4 blackout scene in McGolrick Park this evening, starting around 4pm. They’ve asked residents who face the park not to use lights that shine into the park.

According to On Location Vacations, the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire is filming today in the vicinity of Decatur and Stuyvesant. There’s an interesting little article in GQ about Boardwalk Empire filming on a recreated boardwalk set in Greenpoint, complete with trucked-in sand and everything.

Incidentally, the article mentions that Gretchen Mol is in the series. I can’t find her in the cast on imdb.com, but I hope it’s true – she was fantastic as “No Nuts Norris” in Life on Mars (which also filmed extensively in Brooklyn) so I’m glad she might have landed herself another good gig. The series also stars Park Slope resident Steve Buscemi.
