According to On Location Vacations, the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire is filming today in the vicinity of Decatur and Stuyvesant. There’s an interesting little article in GQ about Boardwalk Empire filming on a recreated boardwalk set in Greenpoint, complete with trucked-in sand and everything.

Incidentally, the article mentions that Gretchen Mol is in the series. I can’t find her in the cast on imdb.com, but I hope it’s true – she was fantastic as “No Nuts Norris” in Life on Mars (which also filmed extensively in Brooklyn) so I’m glad she might have landed herself another good gig. The series also stars Park Slope resident Steve Buscemi.

Here’s What’s Filming Today!

There are three things on the radar today filming in Brooklyn.

Lipstick Jungle is shooting at Broadway Stages, 203 Meserole Avenue, in Greenpoint.

Fringe is filming in (and possibly around) Woodhull Hospital, on Broadway near Flushing in Bed-Stuy. That’s the same location that Cupid used last week.

And thanks to FIB reader Ann, I’m all set to check out Gossip Girl, shooting today in the vicinity of Joralemon and Court in Brooklyn Heights.

Update: According to On Location Vacations, the exact Gossip Girl location is The Packer Collegiate Institute, at 170 Joralemon.

We’re Back, With Lipstick Jungle And Cupid

After getting in late late last night from California, we hit the ground running, visiting three different sets this morning in Brooklyn. Thanks to our friends at On Location Vacations, we knew that Lipstick Jungle was filming on Greenpoint Avenue near Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint. When we stopped by this morning they were still setting up, so we’ll try to stop by later, but it’s an interior shoot. They’re shooting at the same location again tomorrow so we’re hoping to get on set then.

Also shooting today and tomorrow (thanks again, On Location Vacations!) is the new series Cupid, a “reworking” of the Rob Thomas series from a few years ago. They’re shooting in and around Woodhull Hospital on Broadway near Flushing in Bedford-Stuyvesant. It’s a closed set inside the hospital, but again, we’re hopeful for tomorrow.

Looks like they might be getting set for some nighttime stuff outside of the hospital as well:

Last, we stopped by Damages shooting at Cleremont and DeKalb in Fort Greene and got some good pictures of the great Timothy Olyphant, which we will post very soon.
